BALD BOB’S BABBLINGS
Bob & Mary Snipes, Chapter Directors
First I'd like to thank everyone who has said a prayer for me. I'm still confined to my family room but hopefully I'll be able to get out of the house soon. Things are not healing the way we want but some progress is being made.
A special THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the silent auction at the birthday party to collect money for Mary & me. You'll never know how much we appreciate your kindness. I guess we really are one big happy family. Thanks guys. It's been a rough four months and it's not over so please keep supporting Kenn & Nicole. They are doing a super job for the chapter.
Everyone tells me the birthday party was lots of fun. Great job to all who helped put it together. A special thank you to Ron Fox for going all over town and collecting gifts for door prizes. Thanks Ron. I'd also like to thank Ron for baby sitting me while Mary was in Virginia to see her mom. She isn't doing well at all so if you have a minute please say a prayer for her also. We know it's just a matter of time. Cancer can really be cruel. Thanks also to everyone who helped out. Thanks Jim Estabrook for all your prayers.
Don't forget the bike show on the 23rd at Thunder Road instead of a mall show. For all who don't know the mall has changed it's policy so we will not be having a mall show in Cheyenne in the future. Things could change and they could get new management.
I hope to see you guys soon. Take care and remember to ride safe.
--Bob

KENN’S COMMENTS
Kenn & Nicole Harvey, Asst. Chapter Directors
We had a great time at the 19th Chapter B Birthday Party! As usual, the Knights of Columbus did a wonderful job with the Hall and the breakfast. We did have some problems with the lights for the first half hour or so, but they got it all squared away by the time most of our guests started arriving.
We had 102 in attendance, 61 from Colorado, 34 from Wyoming and 7 from Nebraska. Colorado’s Chapters A,E,G,J,L, and O, Wyoming’s Chapter B and Nebraska’s Chapter W were represented.
I want to thank Bob and Mary Snipes for keeping me informed and for their continuing guidance, Dave and Dawna Hill, for all their support and assistance, Ron Fox and Helen Fleming for running the 50/50, Joe & Lynn Dolwick for taking care of the Chapter Raffle, Tony and Diane Morgas for selling the entrance tickets, Wayne & Myrna Brautigam for keeping the Couple of the Year Raffle tickets moving, Sue Mydland for running the Silent Auction Benefit so well, and everyone else who pitched in and made my job that much easier. The donations for the Silent Auction were terrific! Thank you all!
We had about 30 people attend Our March Dinner Run at Avanti’s. We had plenty of great conversation and good food! Thanks to Wayne & Myrna, and Tony & Diane for setting it up for us.
Be sure to get your bike(s) all shined up and ready for the Chapter B Bike Show Saturday, April 23rd at Thunder Road on South Greeley Highway. We hope to get a good showing and promote Motorcycle Safety and Motorcycle Awareness.
Also, please consider the Rider’s Education Levels Program if you have not already. Level I costs only $6 and is good for a lifetime! For more information, contact Phil Runyan or myself.
Ride safe and Often! -- Kenn

RIDE SMART & RIDE OFTEN
By the New Rider Ed Guy
Phil Runyan
Hey Chapter B,
Happy spring!, now it’s really getting time to take care of the maintenance items on your bike before the ride season. There aren’t too many more cold days left and it will be riding season, (it already is for some). Continue, however, to watch for the sand and gravel heaps in corners and sides of roads, every road surface can be rode upon with the right care and technique.
Get your levels applications in for whichever level you are interested in. There are CPR/first aid courses and ERC courses available to take if you are interested in moving up the ‘level’ ladder.
I have been using the DOT parking lots for Top Gun practice in the evenings. If anyone would like to come out and practice with me you are welcome to call my cell phone and arrange a meeting to go work on sharp U-turns, tight circles and 45 degree pull-outs. 214-8112. The practice sessions usually last 30-90 minutes as a body gets tired with this kind of practice.
Even if you don’t want to compete in the Top Gun, the focal point of getting to know the maneuvers is to train you to know what the bike can do for you in an emergency if it should arise, and, that you will know how to perform those maneuvers without even thinking much about it.
The instructors in my first rider ed course taught us something, it is that you have much more control of a bike with the rubber on the road. You might be very surprised at what a bike can actually do in a tight space and that could mean getting out of a situation without a scratch.
Have fun riding. -- Phil

GWRRA chapter B people, I service Honda motorcycles and other types if you have them. If you have routine maintenance work that needs to be completed prior to the riding season, the best time is now to finish the work. Please give a call or contact me at the following addresses:
The availability of parts or waiting to get parts can throw a monkey wrench into a more or less 2-4 day turn around time.
Hello everyone, www.pcrphoto.com is now up and running.
I have most galleries with at least some content in them. If you are interested in home decoration with photographs, I am offering the photos that I have gathered from bike trips. This is a good opportunity to get a print of some of those scenes that you might have seen on a bike trip, but you were not able to capture the moment.
I need to mention that I have invested in frame building equipment including a professional glass cutter, 60” mat cutter, corner joiner and circular saw miter saw, and am also offering custom framing for my photos. If you have photos or art of your own, I can frame that as well. As of this typing date 3/29, the equipment is still in shipping and will arrive within the next week. I look forward to having framing capabilities to expand the scope of PCR Photo. As of March also, I have an official business license (a tax ID) so it’s kosher. Stop by the web site or give me a call with your own framing needs.

DAFFODIL DAYS ONCE AGAIN !Dave and I would like to say thank you once again to all that helped.
Joe Dolwick, Ron Fox, Larry Martin, Alice Martin, George Anderson, Susann Anderson, Ron Nickel and his uncle Don, and myself were all able to be there early to help wrap and deliver over 20,000 flowers.
Our granddaughter, Angel and her friend Amber helped Dave deliver along with Paulette Lysne and mom Alma Jean.
Everything was done in one day. Without the help of Chapter B the American Cancer Society would be in one heck of bind. This is our 5th year to make this one of our community projects and they really appreciate all of us very much!
If I have missed anyones name in here please let me know and I do apologize (the memory, oh well).
Thank you once again so much.
Dawna Hill

Some Musings from a Torque-Twisted Mind by Deb NielsenI now own a red GL1800. Before you get all excited that Debbi finally got a Gold Wing just ask me if I can ride it. The thing is too small even for Barbie. It was my door prize/gift at the birthday party. I just happened to pick the right little package. Guess I'll just have to put this little package on the shelf amid the Porsches, Ferraris, Jaguars, Lamborghinis, the Mercedes, the Mini Cooper, the Opel Roadster . . . well, you get the picture. Wish I could find a Jaguar XK120 . . . So now you know, if you didn't before, that I kind of like European cars. If those cars were as easy to own as my "rice burning" motorcycles I'd be in really deep doodoo. Maybe it' s a good thing that I can only afford the kinds of cars that fit in bookcases.
Picked up some motorcycle mags the other day. Haven't got them all digested yet but from what I've perused there's some neat stuff in them. Did you know Vespa now has a 200cc 21-hp scooter called the Granturismo that has a top speed of 74 mph? I'm not trading my Helix any time soon, though. Found out the Vespa costs $4999 which isn't too bad but it has a 31.5 inch seat height (!), a 2.5 gallon gas tank and requires premium fuel. With a seat height to rival the ZRX's, a peanut-size gas tank and a gourmet appetite, I'll not be adding this European scooter to the collection. But a Moto Guzzi may be a distant possibility to add a European flair to my decidedly Far East (made in Japan) collection. But that's another story still in the development stage. Did you know Moto Guzzis have hydraulic valve lifters so they don't need valve adjustments?
Hope ya'll remember to spring ahead Sunday. I just wish more of my timepieces around here were atomic; it'll take me not quite all day to reset everything. And I want to ride down to the Denver Auto Show. So, maybe, I'll start Saturday night. Wouldn't want to be late to the car show.
