BALD BOB’S BABBLINGS
Bob & Mary Snipes, Chapter Directors
Well, we survived the first month of our term. I'm still recovering at home and most days I do pretty good. I'd like to thank Kenn & Nicole for doing an outstanding job filling in for me while I recoup. The birthday party is on tract for March. We do need door prizes, so if you have something to donate or you know a business that will give something please do so. The more the merrier. It doesn't have to be motorcycle related.
Mary is forming an artistic committee. She'll be more than happy to have anyone join her. Their job will be to make decoration for the birthday party, Christmas party and so forth. If you are interested please see her.
Final call for recommendations for IOY/COY. If you want to submit someone please do so now.
Well, that's it for now. Kenn & Nicole and Mary & I will be going to Green River the 26th for the spring planning meeting. It is mostly concerning the rally in June. If you have anything you want us to check on please let one of us know. Til next time ride safe and ride often even if I can't.

KENN’S COMMENTS
Kenn & Nicole Harvey, Asst. Chapter Directors
I jumped into role of the Assistant Chapter Director full throttle by running the January meeting. Chapter Director Bob Snipes had his surgery the day before the meeting and I am happy to say that he is home and seems to be recovering nicely. I want to thank Dave and Dawna Hill for helping me keep the meeting running relatively smooth and Wayne and Myrna Brautigam for stepping up to run the 50/50 for us. I was able to cover everything on my list except I forgot to suggest tipping our servers! Thank you all for making my first “official” Chapter B meeting memorable.
I am glad to see that Bob Snipes has been active, at least in regard to Chapter B planning, during his recovery time. He has made numerous calls and sent off many emails to ensure that our scheduled events go smoothly for all of us. Thanks for the extra effort, Bob!
I also want to thank my wife, Nicole for doing the tough work in formatting and setting up the Chapter B Newsletter so that I am left with the easy copy and paste work. I do appreciate it!
I was able to ride “Maelstrom” to work more than a few times in January, with unseasonably mild temperatures and mostly dry roads. The colder days were circumvented by my electric gloves and jacket liner, so as long as there is hardly any ice or snow, we are ready to go!

RIDE SMART & RIDE OFTEN
By the New Rider Ed Guy
Phil Runyan
Hello everyone, we are back into a nice run of weather and I’ve got the bike out again, ZOOM ZOOM.
Naw, really I’ve been doing some top gun maneuver practice thanks to the Top Gun competition last year, I saw that I was a poor slow speed rider. Well off to practice I went and here are a couple pics of the latest practice run.
Yes, you can lean your bike over almost all the way and NOT fall down. What do you say we all bone up on some of the slow speed stuff like in rider ed classes…….? They are coming up soon.
Don’t forget the CPR and first aid classes if you are interested in Level III or IV GWRRA classification. Till then, get out riding, it’s much too dull to be cooped up in the house so take advantage of the nice days while they are out there.

We are working on setting up maybe a monthly Wednesday/Thursday night ice cream run to a nearby town; Ft. Collins, Wheatland, Laramie, or Pine Bluffs. This would be good weather events and we’d do local in the winter.
The availability of parts or waiting to get parts can throw a monkey wrench into a more or less 2-4 day turn around time.
I do have a completed index gallery with about 15 categories of pictures. All you have to do is click on a gallery picture to go to that specific gallery. Keep trying weekly if you are interested, I will have updates continuously.
The web site is www.pcrphoto.com Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy what you see on your site visit. I am trying to sell my photo’s and now own one of the highest resolution small format digital camera bodies commercially available.
Please let me know if there is something I could do to improve the site.

I have 3 tires all mounted on wheels with brake rotors ready to be installed on the back of a 1500 Gold Wing. 1 Michelin, 1 Metzler, and 1 Dunlop. All are like new. $135.00 and take your choice. They came of bikes I triked so they are not off wrecks. I also have a couple others one about (maybe a little less than) half tread and the other is a rag but the wheel is still good. The one with half tread could be had for $50.00 and the rag on a good wheel for $30.00.

Need more power? Need to find a way to plug in more gadgets? Check out www.powerlet.net. You won't find engine power here but you will find auxiliary power plug kits for several different makes and models of motorcycles including GL1800 Gold Wings and Valkyries so you can run GPS units, radar detectors, MP3 players, charge cell phones, and plug in your heated vests. (Just remember not to overwhelm your electrical system with all these nifty gadgets.)They also have a power outlet, called PowerBar, that mounts to the handlebar of any motorcycle with 7/8" or 1" handlebars and they look cool. You can even get chrome ones.

I was simply told, we’ll help you. Great friends in Colorado then and still, the folks I used to drag down to Colorado turned out to be charter members. We had around 17 to start and used to meet at the Old Owl Inn. Neil DuShane Region Rep, Oh! -stories to tell! The members that came to mind are as follows:
1. Ron and Sandra Fox
2. Rich Papke & Wife
3. Bill & Gail Graves
4. Grizz (Ken) & Cindy Foist
5. Milt & Lucky Bastian
6. Mark & Theresa Housley
7. Gradey & Betty McKenny
8. Jim Van Velzor & wife—(deceased)
9. Bob Heywood
10. Toby & Pat Toliler
11. Jim & Paulette Lysne
Those I forgot, sorry, age you know.
We needed a patch for our chapter, so we held a contest, and had several entries. Theresa Housley won, and collected a $100 savings bond. It’s the patch that is worn by Chapter B today, but we needed something to sew them onto.
I found out that Safeway was doing away with their brown vests. I went to all four stores and talked with the managers. They ok’ed it with headquarters and we had free vests for around two to three years, still a few of them around.
We were in Region F then went to Region P as Jim remembers we used to shout, “Go P, Go P.” Fun, huh! We changed to Region I then, which we are now.
The first Area Reps (now Chapter Directors) were as follows:
1. Charter Area Rep-Ron Fox
2. Area Rep.- Bruce Henning
3. Jim Lysne
4. Tony Wassenburg
5. Ed Carlson
6. Collins Wakefield
7. Dave Hill
8. Bob Snipes
We raised money by starting the first overnight poker run to Steamboat Springs. We stayed at a place that overlooked Steamboat Springs-called to Overlook. It was sold years after and we lost our hot tub and pool. We would head back to Cheyenne to Walden, Colorado down the Pouder Canyon, Ft. Collins & Cheyenne for hamburgers and hot dogs.
Lots of people donated prizes and we had an auction to raise money. Lots of folks from Colorado and around would come and have a great time.
We rode what ever our legs would cross, GL 1000, 1200, Kawasaki’s (Generic Jim), Harleys 550, 750s and look what’s out there now. WOW! But let’s not forget the older bikes. We have side cars, trikes cargo trailers, tent campers…
We still wear the patch of Wyo Chapter “B” with over 100 members within. Check out the Wing Dings — super times.
I love you guys, you make our Chapter & GWRRA.
---Ron Fox

G: I was born in Denver, but have lived in Cheyenne the majority of my life. My entire family has been in Cheyenne, we have a lot of history here.
